Are you trying to increase visibility of your brand in order to drive greater sales?
Blogging for business can be highly beneficial as a marketing tactic and will help support your growth.
Here’s Five reasons why you should start blogging for business!
Increases Website Traffic
Building website traffic is not an easy task. You could try promoting your blog to people in person in the hopes they’ll type you into a search bar, or pay extremely high amounts of money for paid advertisements. However, there is a much simpler way of doing this: blogging!
Think about it – every time you add a blog post to your website it is an extra page, which means an extra opportunity to show up in search engines. Not only can you share on your website, but you can promote these posts on social media too, which saves time on building content from scratch!
Helps Convert Traffic Into Leads
So, someone is interested in your blog post and they’re really enjoying the valuable content you’re sharing… but how do you turn this into something meaningful for your business? Simple: add a call-to-action to every blog post. This could involve anything from offering a free eBook, webinar or white-paper – any content asset that requires a potential customer or client to give up their email address. Growing that all important email list means you have more potential leads that you can sell to.
Establishes Authority
Compared to website traffic, establishing authority is not as measurable, but that doesn’t mean it’s not equally as significant. When building a business, it’s vital that you provide valuable information for your consumers and, if you are writing blog posts specifically for your target audience, you are building your authority within their eyes too. This means that, once you enter the sales process, they will have a greater trust in what you have to say. Not only does it elevate you as an expert in the eyes of your customers but also journalists, conference organisers and corporate clients, who might be interested in booking you as a speaker or asking you to contribute to a feature. Drives Long Term Results
If you’re truly blogging for business, you’re in it for the long haul. But that’s okay! You may not instantly own that brand new car or jet off on your dream holiday, but doesn’t it feel so much better when you’ve earned it over a longer period of time?
Plus, with blogging you will notice the power of the “compounding effect”. Even if you are off on holiday, your blogs aren’t taking a break! They will still receive traffic months and even years after you’ve posted them, since they are forever under search engines. So, the effort you put in one day can accumulate to greater success much further down the line too!
Test Out Big Campaigns
Starting larger campaigns often takes a lot of planning and organisation. However, blog posts can be a great way to test them out before investing all your time and money into this drawn out process. It’s great for testing out what your audience responds well to and what initiatives will be successful moving forward. This may not be as important as the points above, but it is a valuable secondary benefit!
